Magazine Guidelines
Entry deadline is November 1, 2008
The author of the submission must be a current Tidewater Community College student at time of submission.
Writings submitted must be original works of no more than 2,000 words. Multiple entries are encouraged.
All submissions must be in Microsoft Word or Rich Text format (MS Word is available to students in the TCC Open Computer Labs) and MUST include student's name and contact information on each page of the submission. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
Submissions should be emailed to channelmarker@tcc.edu by November 1, 2008. Each submission should be sent as an attachment. On each page of the submission, please provide the following information:
- Title of submission
- Student's first and last name
- Complete address including city, state and zip code
- Primary Campus (the campus where you register or take most of your classes)
- Daytime phone number and alternate number if desired
- E-mail address
All submissions, which meet the above stated criteria, will be reviewed by the ChannelMarker panel of judges. Authors selected for publication will be notified in March. The Channel Marker is published in April. Copies will be available in the Campus Student Activities Offices, through various faculty members. All issues of the ChannelMarker are viewable online.

- Submissions will be shared with the editors and judges of the ChannelMarker.
- Neither the ChannelMarker committee nor any of its affiliated companies or entities including but not limited to Tidewater Community College are obligated to use your submission or pay you for any submission.
- It is possible similar submissions may be submitted to the ChannelMarker by multiple sources. Each submission will be judged independently.
- By sending your submission to the ChannelMarker you acknowledge single-use publication rights. You, the author, retain all future publication rights.
- All submissions to the ChannelMarker will not be subject to any obligation of confidentiality.
The ChannelMarker committee will make every effort to contact authors in the event editing is required and the submission is selected for publication. Please ensure that your contact information is included on every page your submission.
