American Anthropological Association - the world's largest organization of individuals interested in anthropology. There is a section titled "What is Anthropology"

Academic Info: Anthropology site is for undergraduate or advanced high school students or above. Many links including online indexes of the literature, World email Directory of Anthropologists, Academic departments, Societies and Institutes.

Anthropology Biography Web - biography web has been developed by the anthropology students at Minnesota State University, Mankato as a part of their EMuseum. They strive to produce brief descriptions of anthropologists and other scientists that have direct influence on the discipline of anthropology. This is by no means a comprehensive list, but they are continuing to add to the web site. 

American Folklife Center This center at the Library of Congress includes the Archive of Folk Culture, one of the largest collections of ethnographic material from the United States and around the world, as well as links to an excellent collection of Resources in Ethnographic Studies.

Anthro.Net Research Engine - contains thousands of reviewed web sites and bibliographic references.

Voice of Shuttle Anthropology - VoS is woven by Alan Liu of the U. California, Santa Barbara, English Department with a team of department graduate students and others. 

National Geographic - sponsored by the National Geographic Society who has been inspiring people to care about the planet since 1888. It is one of the largest non-profit scientific and educational institutions in the world. Its interests include geography, archaeology and natural science, the promotion of environmental and historical conservation.  The search box will allow you to search for anthropology topics
