A Dictionary of Food and Nutrition - This dictionary is intended for anyone who enjoys food and would like a handy, non-technical guide to the terms they encounter on food labels, in advertising, or in the media. The International Association for Food Protection - is a non-profit association of food safety professionals. Comprised of a diverse membership of over 3,000 Members from 50 nations, the Association is dedicated to the education and service of its Members, as well as industry personnel.

National Restaurant Association -- The National Restaurant Association is the leading business association for the restaurant industry. This site provides access to industry news, industry research, food safety & nutrition information and more!

The Research Chefs Association - is the leading professional community for food research and development.

Bakery-Net - Comprehensive site for professional bakers with online articles, recipes, news, events, education, and more.

Society of Wine Educators - The site of this non-profit educational group provides access to the SWE newsletter, information about educational opportunities and information about the SWE Annual Conference.

Tastings - This is the site of the Beverage Tasting Institute, an organization founded in 1981 with the objective of producing fair and impartial wine reviews for consumers. The site provides some information about beer and spirits, but primarily focuses on wine. Users can access a food and wine matching guide, wine reviews, a wine dictionary and more. The site provides the ability to search for wine, beer and spirits as well.

International Food Information Council - This searchable site of the IFIC Foundation provides food safety and nutrition information. The Student section section of the site provides access to a variety of educational publications, which can be downloaded and printed for free.

Association for the Study of Food & Society - The Association for the Study of Food and Society (ASFS) is a multidisciplinary international organization dedicated to exploring the complex relationships among food, culture, and society. ASFS considers wide range if issues such as: Food Policy, Food Habits, Food Programs, Eating Behaviors, Marketplace Ethics, Applied Nutrition, Food Distribution.

US Census Bureau: Monthly Retail Trade and Food Services - This site provides access to food service statistics. Information about the survey, including an overview of the program and the sample design, is also included.

Food Safety Streaming Videos - From the Public Health Website of Seattle and King's County, these streaming videos cover a variety of food safety topics. Although some include Washington state-specific material, most are general and applicable nationwide. Real Player is required to view streaming video and high-speed Internet connection is recommended.

Epicurious: the World’s Greatest Recipe Collection - Over 15,000 recipes compiled from Gourmet and Bon Appétit magazines from the 1990s to the present. Includes food and wine dictionaries.

The Food Timeline - This amazing website is from the Morris County Library in New Jersey.  The site provides a food timeline, and corresponding recipes, if they have them.  Each individual food item is hyperlinked with more information.  This is truly worth looking at!

Not by Bread Alone:  America's Culinary Heritage - From the Rare and Manuscripts collection at Cornell comes this fascinating website that covers all kinds of history of our country and food.

Spices:  Exotic Flavors and Medicines
- This site from the UCLA Darling Biomedical Library examines spices in both cooking and medicine and provides an informative and illustrated spice table.

Pastry Chef Central  - Professional resource for pastry chefs including recipes, assistance from other pastry chefs, and a directory of baking sites.

Star Chefs - Lives and works of world renowned chefs. -  Web directory for hoteliers, hospitality, catering, culinary professionals with over 7500 links.
