Literature Resource Center includes over 4000 explications and overviews of prominent literary works; links to 5000 web sites focusing on major authors and their works; and 2200 author portraits.
The Database of African-American Poetry A collection of over 2,500 poems based on William French's bibliography, Afro-American Poetry and Drama, 1760-1975. 
American Poetry includes 40,356 poems from 1,288 works by 209 poets, along with six landmark anthologies of American poetry. (Colonial period to the early 20th century)
English Poetry Covers 1,257 named poets and many anonymous poets.  Over 165,000 poems from about 4,500 separate printed sources. 
English Verse Drama Database More than 2,200 by 500 named poets and over 300 anonymous works, from the late 13th century to the end of the 19th century.
Project Muse provides access to the full text of over 250 journals from 10 university presses, including journals from the Johns Hopkins University Press.

Project Bartleby Online works including those of well know poets. 

Search the Internet Using AltaVista: In the search box put a + in front of your search terms.  Use key words from the title of your poem and the poet's name, ex. +Frost +mending +walls.  Use the help screen to refine your search or learn more about AltaVista searching.
