StormDollars, Meal and Child Minding plans
Basic Plan
- StormDollars
- Basic plan that can be used at all campus locations accepting StormCard payments
- Available to all students currently enrolled in one or more credit hours and employees
- Deposits may be completed via StormCardManager (Web), StormPorts (cash-to-card machine) or campus Business Offices
- Deposits via cash or credit card (view restrictions by deposit method)
- Non-refundable plan
- Account Expiration
- Students: A StormDollars account is considered abandoned and expired when a student has not re-enrolled for the immediately following term. You may expend plan funds up to the start of the next term. Exhaust your StormDollars funds if you do not intend to enroll in the next term.
Spring 2012 Account expiration: 5/24/2012 (expires on this date if you are not enrolled in a Summer 2012 course)
- Employees: A StormDollars account is considered abandoned and expired when an employee has resigned or has been terminated from the college
Supplementary Plans
- Meal Plans
- A separate plan used for payments at food service locations on campus - The Campus Café & Einstein Bros.® Bagels. (currently Norfolk campus only)
- Available only to registered students
- Non-refundable plan (expires each term on last day of exams, 5/7 for Spring 2012)
- Term based with a specific plans available for Fall, Spring and Summer terms
- Deposits of $100, $200 or $300 accepted
- Deposits may be completed via StormCardManager (Web) or campus Business Offices
- Deposits via cash or credit card (view restrictions by deposit method)

Deposit funds on your StormCard
Three options
Be sure to review all plan deposit periods for the associated term (see above)
- Online Method - Instructions
- Use the TCC StormCardManager web site (a secure site) to place money on your card account with a credit card
- A minimum deposit of $25.00 is required ($30 for Child Minding plans)
- All plans except Child Minding Financial Aid plan (must complete at Business Office)
- StormPort Stations - Instructions and locations
- Use the cash-to-card stations available on all campuses - StormDollars plan only!
- The StormPort Station will accept U.S. bills ($1 - $20) and place the value on your card account
- You will need to have you card with you to insert into the machine
- No fees are charged
- No change is given by these machines

- Campus Business Offices - Locations and contact information
- Cash or credit cards may be used at to any campus Business Office to add money to your card account
- Have your StormCard (TCC ID) available
- Complete a Request for Deposit form indicating funds to be used and submit to a cashier for deposit
- The authorization form must indicate the specific plan(s) to be purchased and/or deposited to or funds will automatically be deposited in the general StormDollars plan and will not be transferrable
- A minimum deposit of $25.00 is required ($30 for Child Minding plans)
Guest Deposits - Invite others to place funds into your account (Instructions)
- You may invite others such as parents, grandparents, and spouses to deposit funds into your account at the StormCardManager web site
- You will provide the individual with a secure link to your account
- Guests will only be allowed to deposit funds with a credit card
- Guests may deposit funds into a specific plan as available: StormDollars, Meal, Child Minding
- A minimum deposit of $25.00 is required ($30 for Child Minding)
- Guests will not be able to view your account details such as transactions and balances
Make a Purchase
- Visit a vending machine on campus and insert your card into the CBORD card reader which will have a display message of "Insert StormCard Here!" (Note the messages on the reader display during and following your transaction)
- Visit your campus Barnes & Noble @ TCC location to complete a bookstore purchase
- Visit Food Service or Child Minding locations in the Student Center to complete a purchase (currently Norfolk campus only)

Managing Your Account
- View transaction history and balances online with the StormCardManager web site.
- Regardless of how you deposit funds on your card, you should be sure to establish an account on StormCardManager
- StormCardmanager will allow you to report a lost card and lock your account online to protect your balance
- If you have balance questions, please visit your campus Business Office
Account Notifications
- E-mail notifications regarding your account will be directed to your TCC student email account by default - be sure to check your TCC email account periodically
- You may elect to customize some notification settings as described below in Setting Notification Preferences
- Notifications you will receive:
- Low balance: If your plan balance falls below a specific threshold amount, you will receive a low balance e-mail notification as a friendly reminder
- Low balance threshold by plan: StormDollars = $5, Meal = $10, Child Minding = $12
- You will receive this notification on each day that you have a transaction and the plan remains below the low balance threshold
- This is an e-mail notification that is processed during the evening
- Instant account alerts: optionally receive an immediate notification for a deposit or withdrawal exceeding specified amounts (A deposit alert may be useful if you are expecting guest deposits!)
- End of term plan expiration: Approximately two weeks prior to the end of the term, you may receive an e-mail notification if you have a balance remaining in a term based plan which will expire (Meal, Child Minding)
- General: Any account news such as new features or special promotional campaigns

- You may optionally customize your low balance (daily) notification and instant alerts by plan using the StormCardManager web site
- Set a different low balance threshold by plan
- Indicate a different e-mail account to receive low balance notifications

Refunds
All refunds will follow the College’s Tuition and Refund policy, unless otherwise stated below.
Financial Holds
- Any student with a financial hold in the Student Information System that “blocks all” services shall have a hold placed on his/her StormCard account
- The hold shall prevent further use of the StormCard until the purpose for the financial hold is resolved
Responsibility to Report lost, damaged or stolen cards
- TCC shall not be held responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen StormCards
- The college shall not be held responsible for any unauthorized use of the StormCard prior to it being reported as lost or stolen
- The cardholder is responsible for reporting lost, damaged or stolen StormCards at any campus Business Office or by using the StormCardManager web site
- A card will be cancelled when it is reported as lost or stolen
- A StormCard may be reissued as provided in the college's policy on ID cards
- A reissue fee is required and must be paid at a campus Business Office
- The receipt of reissue fee payment must be presented at a campus ID Office to have a replacement card produced and activated
