Job Referral Service
We offer an employment referral service designed
to assist students and former students in finding employment. Job listings
are received daily from employers throughout the Tidewater area, and posted
on-line with HireNet.net/Tidewater Community College, an on-line job search
program. The office also receives listings from federal, state and city
agencies. Students also have access to ALEX, the Virginia Employment Commission's
computerized job bank.

Cooperative Education and Internship opportunities
are also available through this office. The programs give students practical,
valuable work experience in a field related to their studies. Students
can also receive college credits for the experience. The co-op program
bridges the gap between classroom and on-the-job learning. Many private

Additional Services
On-campus recruitment by local employers is
also coordinated by the Student Employment Services Office. These on-campus
visits give students and TCC graduates the opportunity to interview with
potential employers in their field of study.
The TCC Student
TCC's student body is diverse. Many of our
students have prior work or military experience. Others are attending
TCC to upgrade their job skills or to prepare for career changes. We have
students who are returning to the workplace after raising their children.
Some TCC students already possess a two-or four-year degree.
