The John Moore Lecture Series & Scholarship  Information

 

Because of John’s dedication to education and his passion for history, the Moore Family supports the Tidewater Community College by offering a scholarship awards for Norfolk campus TCC students who demonstrate an interest in the study of history. Eligibility requirements are below. Students may earn up to 2,000 dollars toward their TCC tuition and cost of books. Scholarship recipients are seleted each semester and are asked to write a brief essay upon winning the award. Winning candidate(s) to be announced April 30, 2007.

 

 

JRM Scholarship Requirements

  • Students must have 24 credits completed at TCC
  • Of those 24 credits, 6 credits (2 courses) must be in history
  • GPA for history courses: 3.5
  • GPA overall: 3.0
  • Candidates for this award must also plan to transfer a four-year institution

JRM LECTURE SERIES 2007

April, 2007

During this third lecture in our JRM series, the college will host a panel of speakers whose expertise is in Native American warfare to compliment our state and nation's 400 anniversary of the Jamestown settlement. Look for more details soon.
