 The Writing Center at TCC Portsmouth provides free assistance to students who are writing in any course at the college. Students can receive help on lab reports, research papers, essays, outlines, summaries, case studies, book reviews, and other writing assignments in any subject. Writing Center consultants are members of the TCC Portsmouth English faculty and students with exceptional knowledge of academic writing.
Students seeking help on a specific assignment should bring as much information about the assignment as possible, along with a draft. The Writing Center staff can help clarify an assignment or suggest strategies for improvement; however, they do not write, edit, or revise student work.
The Writing Center also offers resources to faculty through consultations about design and implementation of writing assignments, reference materials on writing, or short seminars on request.
