My name is Patti Lynn Anderson. I am originally from Pennsylvania, but I have lived here in Virginia Beach for the past 18 years.

      After receiving my Bachelor's Degree from California University of Pennsylvania, I came here to begin a teaching career with Virginia Beach City Public Schools. My first experience was teaching 8th grade English at Brandon Jr. High School (now Brandon Middle School). In my class that year was an ESL student from Iran. Working with him really sparked my interest in ESL.

     The following summer, I began working on my ESL endorsement at Old Dominion University and took an ESL position that September. I have been teaching ESL in various elementary and middle schools in Virginia Beach since 1987. This is my first time as an adjunct instructor at TCC, and I am really enjoying my ESL 7 class!
