Course Descriptions. NAS 131 & NAS 132 represent the
two semester sequence in astronomy that is taught at the Beach campus.
NAS 131 is astronomy of the planets & solar system.
NAS 132 is astronomy of the stars, galaxies & the universe.
Taking the courses in sequence is not required. You may take
NAS 132 before NAS 131.
The
astronomy department at the Virginia Beach Campus of Tidewater Community
College has several telescopes and imaging equipment. Observation
sessions are an integral part of the astronomy program. Students
are required to attend a minimum number throughout the semester.

Bay Amateur Astronomers Club or the year can be found at
the BBAA site.
Owning a telescope is not a requirement to join the club. If
you are interested in astronomy and have thought about buying your
own telescope, it might be a good idea to talk to several members
and attend some skywatches. You will be able to check out the
different types of scopes and look through them to compare.
