Geophysical Sciences @ TCC

 The department operates in conjunction with the Natural Science Division's overall program for Enrichment 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th grades. We offer a variety of topics in the GeoSciences including rocks and minerals, dinosaurs, meteorology, and marine science. We have numerous trips to area beaches, wetlands, and even get some of the kids on our boat! The stress is placed on those topics which children find stimulating, scientifically challenging and fun. They learn how the scientific method works in a variety of GeoScience applications. This is a new program and promises much success both to the students of Chesapeake schools as well as to the department.

We offer a variety of topics in the GeoSciences including rocks and minerals, dinosaurs, meteorology, and marine science. We have numerous trips to area beaches, wetlands, and even get some of the kids on our boat! The stress is placed on those topics which children find stimulating, scientifically challenging, and fun. They learn how the scientific method works in a variety of GeoScience applications. Since the program started in 1982, thousands of young people have had the opportunity to learn more about our area.
