Geology Scholarship |
| PURPOSE: |
To
assist declared A.S. in Natural Science and Math students at TCC. |
| STIPEND: |
At
least $200.00 per year for one semester. |
| TO
BE CONSIDERED YOU MUST: |
| |
- Have
completed one year at TCC.
- Must
be registered for 12 credit hours.
- Have
taken at least 8 semester credits in Geophysical Sciences (GOL 105,
106, 110, 111, 112, 295, NAS 120, 230) and plan
to be enrolled at TCC for one more year.
- GPA
of 3.0 in Geophysical Sciences and 3.00 overall.
- Are
planning to major in some aspect of earth science at a four year institution.

Oceanography
Scholarship |
| PURPOSE: |
To
assist declared A.S. in Natural Science and Math students at TCC. |
| STIPEND: |
At
least $200.00 per year for one semester. |
| TO
BE CONSIDERED YOU MUST: |
| |
- be
a currently enrolled TCC student.
- be
taking, or have taken, oceanography.
- have
a minimum of 1 year left to attend TCC
- have
a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
- be
working toward a major in one of the following: physical,
oceanography, marine science, marine biology, marine chemistry, marine
geology
- be
willing to work 6-10 hours a week on the R/V Matthew F. Maury and on
some (not many) weekends.
- have
a valid Virginia Drivers License.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

you meet the above criteria and would like to apply for the experiential
scholarship, please submit a packet with the following:
- name
- SSN
- phone
number
- copy
of drivers license
- college
transcript (must be an official but you may use an unofficial while
we process application)
- 500
word essay on your major
