Tidewater Community College’s hospitality management program offers a specialization in food service management that will prepare you for a fulfilling career in an industry where there’s always a need for customer-oriented supervisors.
As a student in our program, you’ll take courses in supervisory management, accounting, communications and marketing along with course work specific to food service – a wide range that will give you the foundation to succeed in this dynamic field. Classes exclusive to the food management track include recipe and menu management, catering management and food and beverage cost control.
There’s no shortage of jobs in food service, either. It employs more than 13 million people, or 10 percent of the U.S. workforce, according to Restaurant News.

TCC’s Associate of Applied Science in Hospitality Management with Specialization in Food Service Management consists of 4 semesters of full-time study, with classes held mainly at the Virginia Beach Campus.
If your schedule doesn't permit full-time attendance, you may also take classes part time.

While hospitality management majors specializing in food service management can find immediate employment after earning an associate, you can transfer to a four-year school to work toward a bachelor’s degree in tourism or hospitality management.
