Associate OF Applied Arts Degree: Studio Arts
The Studio Arts program is designed for those entering or continuing in
the field of visual arts, including two- and three-dimensional design,
photography, ceramics, glass-blowing, painting and drawing. Students gain
extensive studio experience in a wide range of media, both traditional and
contemporary, learning from masters of specific visual arts. Individuals are
prepared for employment in museums, art centers, galleries, and similar
areas; they are also prepared for owning a business in the arts or for personal
enrichment in one or more areas of the visual arts. While not designed as a
transfer program, courses from the Studio Arts program may be transferable
to corresponding programs at four-year colleges and universities.
