2015 student Exchange program:


The Office for Intercultural Learning is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2015 Tradium College Student Exchange Program that will take place in Randers, Denmark from August 29 to September 13, 2015! TCC students will have the opportunity to study at Tradium College in Randers, Denmark and live with a host family.

Program Dates: August 29 - September 13, 2015

Estimated Program Cost: $803*

Application Deadline: Friday, April 10, 2015 (Midnight; 12:00 a.m.)

(Completed aplications must include the Tradium Student Exchange application form and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member)

* Cost of the program WITH the Office for Intercultural Learning Scholarship. The estimated full cost of the program without the OIL scholarship will be $2525.00. Scholarships from the Office for Intercultural Learning will be available to students selected for participation to help defray the cost. 9 scholarships in the amount of $1722.00 each will be awarded. Students will be notified whether they have been awarded a scholarship at the time of acceptance into the program (NOTE: Scholarship recipients that withdraw from the program after the cancellation deadline for travel will be responsible for repaying any travel funds disbursed and for paying any cancellation fees.). Final costs may increase depending on currency fluctuation and/or fuel surcharges. The final cost of the program will not be available until 30 days before departure. Participants are responsible to pay for any increase in the final program cost. 

** Students selected for travel may be asked to complete an interview with selection committee.




Boren Awards for International Study

Applications for the David L. Boren Scholarships and Fellowships are available at:

Boren Awards provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study in Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East, where they can add important international and language components to their educations.


Boren Scholars and Fellows represent a variety of academic backgrounds, but all are interested in studying less commonly taught languages, including but not limited to Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Swahili. As part of the African Languages Initiative, Boren Award applicants have the opportunity to further their study of Akan/Twi, Hausa, Portuguese, Swahili, Wolof, Yoruba, or Zulu. Undergraduate students can receive up to $20,000 for an academic year’s study abroad and graduate students up to $30,000 for language study and international research. In exchange for funding, recipients commit to working in the federal government for a minimum of one year.
