International Student Dinner 2002
 |
Some of TCC's International Students.
|
Each
year, International Student Services in conjunction with
the International Programs Office and Student Activities
(Virginia Beach), organizes an International Student Dinner.
The dinner is open to all students and staff of TCC, but
its focus is on international awareness. Guests are asked
to bring a covered dish that represents their native country,
and typically the international students provide entertainment
in a talent show type of format. This year's dinner also
included a professional performance from the Filipino American
Youth of Tidewater. The dinner is an enjoyable way for our
international students to meet people outside of their curriculum
(ESL or English as a Second Language).
It is also a good way for our American staff to gain some
exposure to different cultures and foods. Please browse
through the following photos to get an idea of what the
International Dinner was like.

Even
the youngest party goers had a wonderful time. This
young lady showed the adults how to do the chicken dance,
a uniquely American tradition. |
|
These
young people performed a hip hop routine that had
the crowd asking for more!
