Endowments
Endowment funds allow us to provide
for the future needs of the college as well as current needs. The
principal of the gift is carefully invested and preserved in perpetuity.
Only the interest generated is used to provide financial support
to the area designated by the donor. Donors may elect to designate
their gift to building the college's unrestricted endowment or they
may establish a personal endowment fund for a specific purpose.
Personal endowment funds support academic programs, scholarships,
faculty chairs, or other programs of interest to the donor.
Unrestricted Funds
TCC is a dynamic community
college, and its priorities continually change to meet the needs
of the community. The state of Virginia remains our primary funding
source, however, the current fiscal challenges facing higher education
in the Commonwealth require us to diversify our funding base. Unrestricted
gifts are needed to provide funding for areas of the college impacted
by budget shortfalls and decreased funding.
Scholarships
Scholarships are a powerful way
to make a difference in the lives of others. Giving to scholarships
provides a donor with an opportunity to directly impact a student’s
life through education. You can support the TCC scholarship program
by contributing to one of our existing scholarships or you can create
one in your name or to honor a loved one or friend.
