To recognize the generosity of scholarship donors and to celebrate the accomplishments of student recipients, President DiCroce hosted the 2010 Scholarship Recognition Dinner on May 4, 2010 at the Fred W. Beazley Portsmouth Campus.  This annual event gives students a chance to share their stories and express thanks to the donors who have helped them pursue their education.

Damiani International Experience Scholarship, spoke on behalf of the student recipients.  Thanks to this scholarship, Jason spent nearly two months in Brazil during the summer of 2009.  In Jason’s words, his many activities at an orphanage, “not only opened my eyes to a whole new world, but also gave me a glimpse into how to leave my mark on it.”  While at TCC, Jason was an active participant in Student Federation Council, Circle K International, the International Student Alliance, and Phi Theta Kappa.  He is graduating on May 14, 2010 and transferring to the University of Virginia to pursue a baccalaureate degree in Psychology.  To read Jason’s remarks, click here.
