Health Professions Fund supports future health care workers with real-world simulations and classrooms stocked with the materials professionals use in the field, ER or clinic. It's not theory, it's learning.

Interior Design Fund provides the latest tools, software and good old fashioned drawing pencils that help students put their visions on paper or into a 3D model.

Mortuary Science Fund has provided students the most recent technology available in the industry. Students use new software to learn business models and clay molds to make facial reconstructions. Students don't learn only by reading the book, but by doing the work.

Student Support

TCC students receive a world-class education from industry experts and have access to a variety of support programs to help them succeed. Your gift through a student support fund provides the newest equipment to learn and train on, career services for students and alumni, academic support, fitness studios for health mind and body, child care during class or work and more. Below are sample funds you can choose from.

Classroom and Laboratory Fund helps keep students in productive and interactive learning environments, supports new technologies for learning in the class and the test tubes stocked in the labs.

Computers for Student Success Fund has refurbished more than 6000 computers and laptops that are given to students who can't afford one on their own. Your financial support provides the software licensing, cables and hardware so students may access online learning tools and class assignments. You may also donate your old computers for refurbishing.

Martin Library Fund keeps the shelves stacked with traditional publications and periodicals, also the newest technologies like tablets students may reserve to read class materials.

Student Philanthropy Fund helps students learn the importance of helping others. Students learn leadership in philanthropic principles and how to fund student ideas to help other students. Your donation educates the next generation of donors.

Scholarships

Donors may establish and name a scholarship with a minimum donation of $5,000. There are dozens of established scholarships you may also donate to, providing more and larger awards to deserving students. Please call our office at 757-822-1082 to review existing funds or start one anew.

General Scholarship Fund provides needed tuition help for students who do not meet the criteria of a named fund, require a little more assistance or are facing an emergency need for funds. The General Fund provides important tuition support and often means the difference between graduating on time or dropping out of school.

Endowments

Endowments are the real gift that keeps on giving. Endowments may be established with a minimum gift of $30,000 and grow over the years through interest, investment earnings and additional contributions. They provide a permanent funding source for programs, scholarships, and means your gift will still be giving many decades in the future.

College General Endowment Fund provides a permanent funding source that augments tuition and shrinking state budgets. No revenue source covers 100% of the cost or expenses at TCC. Annual gifts and endowment income help fill the gap.

Planned Giving / Estate Gifts

Increasingly, donors are choosing to include TCC in their estate plans as a way to provide for the College's future. In recognition of their legacy gift, our planned giving donors become members of the Godwin Legacy Society. Planned gifts include life-income opportunities and other arrangements mutually beneficial to the donor and TCC.

Each type of plan has its own tax consequences, but many will help you make plans to transfer your assets to a charity and/or family members. Planned giving can help you achieve your philanthropic goals as you enjoy one or more of these benefits:

  • current income tax charitable deduction
  • avoidance of capital gains tax
  • avoidance of estate taxes on assets transferred in the planned gift
  • guaranteed income for you, your spouse, or other loved ones
  • increased lifetime income
  • income in retirement years
  • tax-exempt income.

When considering listing TCC in your will or estate plans, naming TCC in an insurance policy, purchasing an annuity or other income generating account, there are many personal and financial considerations. Discuss these matters with your family, financial planner, broker or advisor to review the best options and timing for your situation.
