Attendance and Class Policies for Bonnie Startt

Miscellaneous Resources

Class Requirements: I would suggest that you familiarize yourself with the TCC Catalog and Student Handbook as all rules of attendance and behavior will be strictly followed. Attendance is an important part of your learning process-  You can't learn if you aren't here. Please note that in order to receive credit for a class you must be present for 80% of the classes. For classes which meet 3 times a week you may have 9 absences; classes that meet 2 times a week, you may have 6 absences; and classes which meet 1 time a week, you may have 3 absences. However, the fewer absences the better. Don't waste your sick days as you may need them later. If there are extenuating circumstances for absences, please call me so we can arrive at a solution. 2 tardies of 5 minutes  equal 1 absence. For classes which meet online, you are required to complete the weekly assignments by assigned date of each week to be counted as present. Please be very aware with online classes that time passes very quickly, and it is very easy to get too far behind to catch up.

Plagiarism will not be tolerated. A plagiarized paper is one which fails to document another's work and it is considered cheating. Cheating will result in a ZERO on that work. for the first offense. A second offense will result in an official school discipline.

Turning in assignments: All work is expected on the assigned due date. Work not turned in that day will be reduced by one letter grade for each day it is late. Work may be e-mailed as an attachment to tcstart@tcc.edu or placed in my mailbox in the Princess Anne Buliding

**If anyone needs any special accommodations for classwork or for testing please see me and/or the counseling department
