These are "field" oriented, 1 credit classes specifically designed
to introduce the novice to the fauna and flora of the Great Dismal
Swamp and to the birds of Tidewater. Classes will meet at predesignated
field sites at 8:00 am (or leave TCC, Chesapeake at 7:30 am). Class will
consist of a single "general" meeting on campus followed by 4 Saturday
morning field trips (every other Saturday) according to the schedule below.
Students will be required to maintain a daily journal.
Class Requirements
- Binoculars (approx $20-$40)
- Field Guide for Eastern U.S. Birds - pick one of your choice (approx $15-$20)
