Cedarville University – Team 1

Cedarville, OH

2006 ASEE Model Design Competition
Chicago, IL
June 19, 2006

Cedarville University has a history of impressive designs in this competition and this year was no exception.  They would have probably scored much higher in the competition except for some unfortunate irregularities in the track.  Their four robots were precisely timed to maintain the required 3 second minimum between ball drops, but an unlevel pocket resulted in a sluggish ball delivery and an illegal drop decision by the judges.  However, they were good sports and will likely even consider track irregularities in future designs!

It was fun to watch these robots start:  two would head straight for their pockets and the other two, after a short delay, would turn and head for their pockets.

Each robot had an Altera programmable logic device onboard for precise steering control and ball delivery.
