Library Research LRC@TCC

This orientation will help you acquire the skills necessary to conduct research for a term paper or other assignment. The research process should be applicable to any course you are taking. 
 
When you have completed this orientation, you should know: 
  • How to select and develop a research topic.
  • How to plan an effective search strategy 
  • How to find books on your topic.
  • How to use indexes and electronic databases to locate periodicals.
  • How and when to search the Internet.
  • How to critically evaluate the sources you find.
  • How to cite the sources you have used in your research.
  • Worksheet & instructions.
