"A Dream Realized" |

"Occasionally in life there are those moments of unutterable fulfillment which cannot be completely explained by those symbols called words. Their meanings can only be articulated by the inaudible language of the heart."
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Honoring the Memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Each year, Tidewater Community College marks the anniversary of the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The College presents two awards - one to a member of the TCC family and one to a member of the external community; and a scholarship – one to a member of the TCC student body. Recipients are recognized as individuals who best exemplify the teachings and example of Dr. King: advocating a nonviolent approach to solving society's problems; fostering positive race relations in our community; striving to remove the social, political, and economic barriers of inequality; and possessing a realistic optimism, based on faith, of a better future for all Americans.
