TCC honored 1,400 new graduates in its 43rd commencement exercises held Dec. 19 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

President Deborah DiCroce, who conferred diplomas and certificates on the graduates, praised both students and their families for perseverence and success.

Dr. Thomas R. Morris, secretary of education for the state of Virginia, gave the address, encouraging students to consider three "Vs": visualizing your life, volunteering, and voting as a key act of citizenship in a democracy.  He concluded his talk with a show of juggling, representing a balance to strive for in life.

Student speaker Nicole Tatarian encouraged her fellow graduates to reach high for their goals, while remembering those around them who gave them support and helped them succeed.
