RAC Hosts Clean-Energy Event
On Oct. 15, TCC’s Regional Automotive Center (RAC) hosted Hampton Roads Clean Energy Odyssey Day, a biennial event held across the country to raise awareness of alternative energies and ‘green’ transportation. |

Virginia Clean Cities, Green Jobs Alliance and TCC collaborated to feature dozens of alternative-fuel vehicles including segways, electric motorcycles, hybrid and electric/plug-in vehicles and propane-powered trucks.

One of only two sites in the state, TCC welcomed dozens of visitors to “ride-‘n-drive” some of the innovative vehicles. Guests included Virginian-Pilot “Drive” editor Larry Printz (above, left), who has test-driven hundreds of cars all over the world. Now he can add the GM fuel-cell Equinox to his list. |

TCC also featured the new certificate program in Renewable Energy Technologies by demonstrating a wind turbine and solar panels powering a bank of light bulbs. |
