VETERANS DAY 2012
TCC HONORS THOSE WHO SERVE

Tidewater Community College says “Thank You” to veterans and their families, and recognizes our students who have sacrificed for the nation. Celebratory events will be held on TCC’s four campuses on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012,  Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 and Monday, Nov. 19, 2012.

 

Chesapeake

The Chesapeake Campus will honor veterans with a luncheon on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Lounge in the Whitehurst building. The program will include a video presentation with a thank you message for veterans.

Norfolk

The Norfolk Campus welcomes veterans and other military-related students for a special presentation by Capt. John S. Andrews, USN, director, Commander's Action Group, U.S. Fleet Forces Command on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 from noon to 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Portsmouth

The Portsmouth Campus hosts a luncheon to celebrate veterans from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, in The Forum in Building A. The event features an art show with offerings from Visual Art Center students who are veterans or military related. The event speaker is Glenn Clavet, the new VetSuccess Counselor at the Portsmouth Campus.

Virginia Beach

The Virginia Beach Campus celebrates veterans and their families with food, music, games and patriotic giveaways on Monday, Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Center for Military and Veterans Education

TCC officially launches its college-wide Center for Military and Veterans Education on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at 1 p.m. A brief ceremony will be held outside the center, which is located in the Kempsville building on the Virginia Beach Campus. A flag folding and cake cutting ceremony are highlights of the occasion. Refreshments will be provided.
