David Kiracofe’s research interests include Pocahontas, early American life, the American Revolution in Virginia and the roles of historical memory and the historical imagination in the development of identity. His scholarly publications include the book Thomas Jefferson: a Public Live, a Private Life (Nova Publishers) and Dr. Benjamin Church and the Dilemma of Treason in Revolutionary Massachusetts in The New England Quarterly. Kiracofe holds a B.A. from The College of William and Mary and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. His Ph.D. thesis explored the development of American identity through the lens of legal proceedings against treasonable activities during the revolutionary era.
