Gary Cross became the inaugural TCC Batten Fellow, announced in fall 2008, with a project to develop the first-ever commercial medical simulations for respiratory therapy, in partnership with Sentara Health. Using high fidelity medical simulation and the human patient simulator, Cross provides quality instruction and hands-on training for TCC’s respiratory therapy students. As program lead, he maintains a strong working knowledge of state regulations and accepted practices. Cross joined TCC in 1989 as a full-time faculty member, after graduating from the respiratory therapy program himself and practicing in the field for several years. Cross will soon complete a master’s in instructional technology from Virginia Tech. |
