Bio:

|
An educator for 30 years, Joe Antinarella has taught English and writing at the secondary, postsecondary and postgraduate levels. His experience includes co-directing the Tidewater Writing Project and teaching writing at Norway’s Bodo Graduate School of Business and conversational English, practical writing and communication skills at the Baltic States Technical University in St. Petersburg, Russia. A published author, Antinarella co-wrote Tried and True, a text focusing on strategies and methods for teaching writing. The 2006 publication, The Subject is Writing, Essays by Teachers and Students, includes his chapter on strategies and methods for teaching writing. Antinarella holds a B.A. in English from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and an M.A. in liberal studies from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. |

A poet with an M.F.A. in creative writing from Old Dominion University, Rachel Ankney teaches creative writing, preparing for college writing and composition. Inspiring students to experience the world through writing, Ankney developed an Iraq War assignment to explore the human side of war. Additionally, she has advised students from the former Soviet Republic in acclimating to American culture and university life. Ankney holds a B.A. in English from Old Dominion University. |

Joanne Diddlemeyer has 10 years’ experience in higher education, holding both instructional and administrative positions. Her professional experience includes teaching language arts and science in K-12, as well as working as a communication skills specialist and assistant principal in Norfolk Public Schools. Additionally, Diddlemeyer worked as an instructor at Boe Dai Gakkou - the National Defense Academy for Japan - and at the Second Service School for the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force in Yokosuka, Japan. She earned her B.A. in political science from Regis College, an M.S. in reading from Old Dominion University and an Ed.S. and Ed.D. in educational leadership and policy from George Washington University. |

Nancy Jolemore began her teaching career as a graduate teaching assistant of English at Old Dominion University. She went on to become a part-time faculty member at TCC and ODU, teaching developmental writing and composition. She now serves as a full-time assistant professor of English at TCC. Jolemore holds a B.A. in English and creative writing, an M.A. in English with a teaching emphasis and an M.F.A. in creative writing, from Old Dominion University. |

Prior to this post, she was affiliated with the Veterans Upward Bound Program at Norfolk State University. Her professional activities include writing center tutor, placement test reader and student mentor. Wood holds a B.A. in English/secondary education and an M.A. in communication (composition and rhetoric concentration),both from Norfolk State University. |
