April 29, 2014 — Christian rapper Andy Mineo brought his message of hope to the Chesapeake Campus on April 27. More than 650 guests filled the multi-purpose space in the newly open Chesapeake Student Center.

“This is the biggest event we’ve had on campus and being part of the whole experience gives me a heartfelt, gushy feeling,” said TCC student Brittany Wright.

“This shows that TCC is more than the typical community college,” added Aaron Cochrane. “This event is going to be an eye opener for lots of people.”

One highlight of the event was a marriage proposal made during the concert. When she said yes, the newly engaged couple, Jayson and Erin, was called on stage to celebrate with the audience.

Social media was buzzing with comments and photos before and during the event, with students sharing their excitement about Mineo’s concert at TCC.
