TCC and Family Services Offer Free Financial Awareness Classes
HAMPTON ROADS, Va. – (Jan. 22, 2004) - Tidewater Community
College and Family Services of Tidewater are offering free classes,
open to the public, on personal financial management, underwritten
by a grant from Household Inc.
The classes are on a walk-in basis; everyone is welcome. Sessions
addressing Personal Budgeting; Credit Scores, Reports and Issues;
and Using Credit run consecutively and repeat.
Personal Budgeting – the easy way
Each participant will receive an easy to follow excel spreadsheet
on a floppy disc and instructions on preparing their own financial
plan. The goal is to reinforce financial planning as the prerequisite
for financial success.
Credit Scores, Reports and Issues
What you need to know about how things get on your credit report,
what to do if you find errors or problems, and how to assess
your credit report and score.
Using Credit
Understand how credit cards work and how billing is computed. Also
learn how to use them effectively without getting over extended.
Compare auto financing and insurance alternatives.

Tidewater
