MATH CONTEST PITS WIT AND
NUMBERS, APRIL 24
For Chesapeake high schools - juniors and seniors
CHESAPEAKE, Va. – (April 15, 2004) – Any and all juniors
or seniors in Chesapeake high schools can apply their “math
IQ” to the TCC Chesapeake Campus Math Contest on April
24.
The free competition will “pit wit” with math challenges;
no calculators allowed - brain power only.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. for the 10 a.m. to noon
event,
Saturday, April 24, at the Tidewater
Community College Chesapeake Campus, 1428 Cedar Road, Whitehurst Building, Room 2057.
Players can enjoy free pizza, prizes and giveaways, including
a grand prize of a TI-83plus Graphics Calculator.
Students can enter by e-mailing their name, school, grade, highest
math-class completed, and phone/e-mail to dfrench@tcc.edu or
by phoning the information to 822-5150. For questions, contact

Tidewater Community College is the second largest
of the 23 community colleges in the Commonwealth of Virginia, enrolling
more than 34,000 students annually. The 37 th largest in the nation’s
1,600 community-college network, TCC ranks among the 50 fastest-growing
large community colleges. Founded in 1958 as a part of the Virginia

attending a college or university in Virginia last fall were enrolled
at TCC.
