TCC OPEN HOUSE
SET FOR JUNE 4, COLLEGE-WIDE – IN FOUR CITIES
Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach campuses to
offer demos, tours, advising
SOUTH HAMPTON
ROADS, Va. – (May 19, 2005) – Tidewater Community
College invites the public - including students graduating from
high school - to a college-wide open house, from 10 a.m. to 1
p.m. on Saturday, June 4.
Each of the college’s four campuses - in Chesapeake, Norfolk,
Portsmouth and Virginia Beach - will open its doors for a range
of activities, from facility tours and classroom demos to financial
aid and academic advising. On top of information and advice, students
can pick up assorted TCC memorabilia such as pens and key chains
as well as take part in brief surveys and prize drawings.
Activities include:
Chesapeake Campus - examples of student work
in theatre and an overview of the theatre program; demonstrations
or displays in automotive technology, horticulture, information
technology and biology
Norfolk Campus - tours of the culinary arts labs
and science labs, dance demonstrations and information sessions
on admissions, financial aid and College Placement Exams
Portsmouth Campus - graphic design and art demonstrations
by Visual Arts Center faculty; demonstrations in welding, heating,
air-conditioning, ventilation, and Computer Aided Drafting and
Design (CADD); truck-driving simulation; and open science labs
Virginia Beach Campus - demonstrations or displays
in drafting, emergency medical technology, fire and police science,
engineering, industrial technology, information technology and
healthcare professions including a ventilator and other medical/diagnostic
equipment; and electronics lab demonstrations in the Advanced
Technology Center

Tidewater Community College
