TCC SPRING JOB FAIR TO SHOWCASE MORE THAN 80 AREA EMPLOYERS
Public invited to annual event at Virginia Beach Campus
HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (March 15, 2013) – More than 80 area employers will be represented at the Tidewater Community College Job Fair on April 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Advanced Technology Center on TCC's Virginia Beach Campus.
The job fair will offer information on career positions, internships and part-time job opportunities. Under one roof, representatives will gather to meet job seekers, share information and make connections.
The fair is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to dress for success and bring multiple copies of their resumes. No pre-registration is required.
Among the employers represented will be BAE Systems Ship Repair, Chesapeake Fire Department, GEICO, Navy Exchange Service Command, Sinclair Communications, Wells Fargo and many more.
Guest presenter Pete Moyer, vice president of sales for Orpak USA, Inc., will speak from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the ATC theater. Moyer will discuss interviewing skills and touch on topics such as 10 advanced techniques to make an employer want you; how to win the job of your dreams; developing a 20-point "get the job" checklist; and negotiating your offer.
In addition, Bill Hobbs, business leader and author of “The Workbook: How to Build Your Personal Brand and Get Hired,” will be on hand to answer questions.
