Sort Results By, found in the left frame of the search results page, lets you sort your search results in one of several ways.
Depending on what you select in the Result List Format drop-down list on the search form, the results page provides options that can help you quickly sort the results in a way that works for you. For example, if you had selected Detailed from the Result List Format drop-down list, you would be given the following sort options:
Title: Reorders hits in alphabetical order according to the title of each document found.
Description: Returns the first few sentences found in each document.
Language: Reorders hits in alphabetic order according to the language name.
Date: Reorders hits from most recent to oldest, according to the date the document was originally produced.
URL: Reorders hits in alphanumeric order according to the URL where the document was found.
Click any of the options to have QuickFinder™ reorder the search results accordingly.
Result List Format, found in the left frame of the search results page, lets you switch the level of search result detail without having to go back to the search page.
The options that appear here are the opposite two options from the one you selected on the search page. For example, if you had chosen Normal from the Result List Format drop-down list on the search page, then Brief and Detailed would appear here. You would click either Brief or Detailed to refresh the results page with the new level of detail.
