Student Development Courses
Student Development (SDV) courses provide you with the knowledge and resources you need to make your transition to college smoother.
All new students are strongly encouraged to enroll in a one-credit SDV course, as listed in their degree program, as a part of the first 15 credit hours.
SDV 100—College Success Skills covers the basics for navigating your way through TCC.
You’ll learn about —
• exploring academic programs and career paths
• planning your academic programs
• managing your time and money
• taking advantage of the many services, resources, and opportunities at the college
• locating and understanding college procedures
• complying with academic ethics and standards
• using support services
• developing study skills
• completing academic requirements for certificates, degrees, and transfer to other colleges
