Below are answers to frequently asked questions about course evaluations. If you have questions about this process, please contact your instructor, a dean, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I access my course evaluations?
Check your VCCS student email account for the invitation to complete course evaluation online. You can also log into Blackboard and click on the TCC Course Evaluations link to access the evaluations.
Why should I complete these course evaluations?
Your feedback helps us to improve your education and is vital to the success of TCC. The evaluation results:
- Help faculty to incorporate student recommendations and to make course improvements
- Allow administrators to evaluate faculty appropriately
- Assess student learning which is required by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), TCC’s accrediting body.
Will my instructor know if I completed the course evaluation?
No. Your responses are confidential. Faculty are provided summary reports only after grades have been submitted, and summary reports do not include any identifying student information unless you specifically enter your name in a comment field.
Why am I receiving reminders if my instructor does not know whether or not I have completed my evaluation?
The course evaluation software automatically sends reminders to students who have not yet completed their evaluations. The reminders are personalized by referencing the class list within TCC’s student information system (SIS).
I completed my course evaluations. Why am I still receiving reminders?
You will continue to receive reminders until all of your course evaluations have been submitted. Log into Blackboard to confirm whether you have outstanding evaluations.
I do not see a course evaluation for one of my courses. What should I do?
Course evaluations are released at different times depending on the academic session (16-week, 12-week, 8-week, etc.). They are typically made available to students near the end of the session, usually right before final grades are due, Please check Blackboard or your student email regularly.
Are all of the course evaluations available at the same time?
Course evaluations are typically made available to students near the end of the session, usually right before final grades are due. If you are taking a class in the 16-week session and another in the 12-week session, your evaluations will be sent to coincide with the respective end of each class.
