When you start Internet Explorer or you try to access a Web site, you may receive the following error message:
The Page Cannot Be Displayed
CAUSE
The problem may occur for many reasons. These reasons include, but are not limited to, the following: • Connectivity issues or network-related issues.
• Third-party software or Internet connections settings issues.
• Internet Explorer configuration settings.
• Damaged or missing core Windows files.
Solution
Try accessing several other web sites (www.google.com for example). If you can access other web sites then the problem is
with the specific web site you are trying to access. If this is Blackboard, the system may be temporarly unavailable.
Wait several minutes and try again. If you still cannot access Blackboard, and are not getting any status or service
interruption messages, contact the help desk at 822-2457/59 or via email at helpdesk@tcc.edu
If you cannot access other web sites then check your connectivity. Make sure that the cables that connect the computer to
the modem (this includes cable, DSL and dial-up modems) are secure and that there is correct activity from the modem.
*Note: You may have to contact your Internet Service Provider or (ISP) to verify connectivity.
