Mission Statement

The Educational Technology Department provides high-quality, reliable, and responsive educational technology services for students, faculty, and staff at Tidewater Community College, facilitating teaching and learning with educational technologies through support, training, and professional collaboration, fostering the development of both innovative and proactive educational technology expertise, and assisting with planning for the effective use of both current and future technologies.

To support its mission, the Educational Technology Department commits to these three goals:

• We will enable the acquisition, development, direction, and implementation of educational technologies to meet the strategic goals of Tidewater Community College.
• We will provide educational technology services and support to improve the quality of instruction, enhance accessibility, and expand and enrich learning opportunities.
• We will research and assess pedagogical and andragogical innovations and learning principles to create and enhance flexible learning environments and to promote more active exchanges of ideas and experiences.
