Storm Split Weekend Set

All season long, the Tidewater Community College Men's Basketball team has played well, despite some of the results. This weekend was another indication of how far the team has come this season, again, in spite of some of the results. TCC split a pair of conference games this weekend, losing to defending conference champion Northern Virginia Community College on Saturday, 83-78 in what can only be described as a high quality college basketball game. After going to the half tied at 31-31, the Storm would find themselves trailing by 12 points to the very explosive Raiders with five minutes remaining in the second half. TCC would then explode on a 14-2 run to tie the ball game at 73-73 with less than two minutes to play. TCC would ultimately fall short in the final minutes as a late turnover proved very costly in the defeat. Freshman Reginald "Schmitty" Smith led the Storm with 24 points, while Sophomore Antoine Bradley provided 14 points to contribute to the cause.
The Storm would rebound in a big way on Sunday, dismantling an overmatched Lord Fairfax Community College team, 107-62. TCC received contributions from many on this day in a dominate performance. The Storm had four players score in double figures while holding another conference opponent under 70 points. The Storm scored over 90 points for the third time in their last four games in the win.
The competition stands to get stiffer this weekend as TCC battles a highly regarded Charis Prep team. Come be a part of all the excitement!
