Soccer Storm Split Two In Season Ending Tournament
Friday, November 4, 2011
Vincent Gary--Athletics Coordinator
The TCC Men's Soccer team finished the Fall 2011 season by splitting two very entertaining matches in the inaugural TCC Storm Soccer Invitational. Playing short handed due to injuries, the Storm finished regulation tied 1-1 with a very talented Christopher Newport University Club team. They would succumb to the Captains 4-2 in penalty kicks.
Never deterred, TCC finished their season on a high note by defeating their VCCS counterpart Thomas Nelson Community College. This match was a little close for comfort, leading by two goals with only a few minutes remaining, the Storm saw their lead evaporate as a late Gator surge tied the match at 2-2. However, TCC would take back the victory by winning on penalty kicks, 4-2.
For the season, TCC finished 4-1. Both Head Coach Scott Wright and Assistant Coach Alex Perez look forward to a very bright future for the Storm!
