Students with disabilities who need accommodations to take the placement test are encouraged to identify themselves to a Disability Services Counselor.
Types of accommodations
Students with documented disabilities may qualify for academic accommodations such as more time on tests including the placement test, priority registration, and other services as needed. TCC offers placement assessment in Braille, tape, large print, and computer magnified formats.
Transactions between the Disability Services Counselor and students with disabilities are confidential. Information regarding students with disabilities may not be shared with anyone without the student's written permission.
Students with disabilities who wish to take classes at TCC must follow these procedures:
- Meet with a Disability Services Counselor. Bring documentation (proof of disability such as a doctor's letter, school psychologist evaluation, etc.) to the meeting.
- Schedule an Assessment Test through your campus Disability Services Counselor.
- Meet with the Disability Services Counselor to review your Assessment Test scores, to select courses, to plan your academic program, etc.
- Enroll in classes. The Disability Services Counselor will help you with this process.
