Automotive Program Advisory Group Scholarship |
Description:
Established by the Automotive Program Advisory Group and funded from the proceeds of the Advisory Group’s Golf Tournament. This scholarship is to support the education of students in the Automotive Program at TCC. |
Criteria:
Student must be enrolled in the Automotive Program with career plans in the Automotive Technical field.
Full time or part time student
The recipient must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5
New or continuing student
Scholarship is for tuition, fees and books
Recipient must have demonstrated need
Applicant must enter the program with and maintain a good driving record

Chesapeake Campus General Scholarship |
Description:
The Chesapeake Campus General Scholarship was established through donations to the Tidewater Community College Educational Foundation. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books. |
Enrolled in a degree or certificate program
• Continuing student (minimum of 6 completed credits)
Cumulative GPA 2.5
• Scholarship is for tuition, fees, and/or books
• Funds to be equally awarded in two semesters
• Must be currently enrolled at TCC
• Amount of scholarship award per student not to exceed tuition, fees, and/or books
• Scholarship to be awarded fall, spring or summer semesers
• Letter of recommendation is required with application from one of the following:
TCC faculty member, faculty from another institution, or employer. |

Chesapeake Martin Myrtle Accounting Scholarship |
Description:
Established in September 2005 by Gregory and Carolyn Satz. Carolyn Satz teaches Accounting at the Chesapeake Campus. This scholarship is to support the education of students with Accounting or Business career goals.
There will be two awards of $400 each per semester, spring and fall, for a total of $1,600 in one academic year, beginning spring 2006. Funds may be used for summer semester if needed. |
Criteria:
Recipient must have Accounting or Business career goals.
Accounting club students are preferred, but non-members are also eligible.
Must be officially enrolled as a full-time or part-time (minimum of 6 credit hours) in the Business Administration or Accounting plans (curriculum) at TCC.
The recipient must be a Chesapeake Campus student.
The recipient must maintain an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5 with a minimum 3.0 in Accounting.
Each applicant must provide, in writing, an essay of no more than 500 words describing their career plans and goals and community involvement .
Each applicant must submit one recommendation from accounting or business faculty.
The recipient may apply more than once.
The scholarship is for tuition, fees, and books. |

Chesapeake Master Gardeners Volunteer Scholarship |
Description:
Established in February 2004 by the Chesapeake Master Gardener Volunteers. This scholarship is to support the education of students in the Horticulture Program at TCC. The scholarship is one award of $500 each per semester, spring and fall, for a total of $1,000 in one academic year. The scholarship can be used during the summer if needed. A full time student is preferred. If full time student is not applicable the scholarship may be used for a part time student. |
Criteria:
Recipient must have horticulture career goals.
Must be officially enrolled in the horticulture curriculum at TCC.
The recipient must be a Chesapeake Campus student.
The recipient must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 with a minimum 3.0 in Horticulture.
Each applicant must provide, in writing, a description of their Horticulture related extra-curricular activities in the field of Horticulture and their Horticulture Goals.
The recipient's description above must be forwarded to the Development Office. The Development Office will forward the information to the Scholarship Committee of the Chesapeake Master Gardener Volunteers (CMGV).
The recipient may apply more than once.
The scholarship is for tuition, fees, and books.
Unused Chesapeake Master Gardener Volunteer Scholarship funds that have not been distributed are to be reinvested into the Chesapeake Master Gardener Volunteer Scholarship. |

Cowden/Knight Memorial Scholarship |
Description:
Dr. Gerald Steffens Cowden, former professor of history at the Chesapeake Campus, was a dedicated teacher, accomplished scholar, and a loyal member of the campus community. Dr. Carol Lynn Knight, also a former history professor, distinguished herself as a recipient of both teaching and academic awards, including the State Council for Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV) Outstanding Faculty Award and the Chancellors Commonwealth Professor Award (offered by the Virginia Community College System). This scholarship is awarded annually and is applicable to tuition/fees and books. |
Criteria:
full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours per semester)
enrolled in either the A.A. degree program (Liberal Arts) or the A.S. degree program (Natural Sciences)
expressed intention to pursue a baccalaureate degree at a four-year institution
continuing student (15 credit hours completed)

Brian P. Damiani International Experience Scholarship |
Description:
In October of 1996 Mrs. Victoria Damiani established the Brian P. Damiani International Experience Scholarship. The Ad Hoc International Education Committee at the Chesapeake Campus will be responsible for defining an appropriate international experience. |
Criteria:
have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours

evaluations from at least 2 past or current instructors submitted directly to financial aid office

George Flaherty Trust Scholarship |
Description:
This scholarship was established by the estate of the late George Flaherty to assist students enrolled in the electrical program. This scholarship is awarded annually and is applicable to tuition, fees and books. |

Christopher M. Garrett Scholarship |
Description:
In 1998 Larry and Cheryl Garrett established the Christopher M. Garrett Scholarship Fund named for their son who was a student at the Chesapeake Campus of Tidewater Community College. This is a need/merit based scholarship and is applicable to tuition/fees. |

Hampton Roads Automobile Dealers Association Scholarship |
Description:
Established by the Hampton Roads Automotive Association to assist first and second year students in the Automotive Technology A.A.S. program. Funds can be used to cover tuition, fees, and books. Successful candidates will be selected by the Tidewater Community College HRADA Scholarship Committee. Special consideration will be given to persons with prior automotive training and/or experience. |
Criteria:
• Resident of the State of Virginia
• Plan on a career as an automotive technician
• Continuing student full-time or part-time if first year general education requirements met
• High school graduate with a GPA of 2.5 or higher from a high school in the Hampton Roads area. Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher to receive the award for the second and subsequent semesters. Students having demonstrated automotive technology ability through previously successful completion of high school automotive technology class will receive preference.
• The recipient must agree to employment with a HRADA member at a prevailing rate (if offered following graduation). This employment agreement will be on a ‘one-for-one’ basis. For each full academic year of assistance, the recipient will agree to work for one full year for a HRADA member. In the event this recipient fails to meet this requirement, or if the recipient fails to complete the requirements for the A.A.S. degree, the recipient agrees to repay Tidewater Community College the full amount received from this award.
• Enter the program with and maintain a good driving record.
• Agree to complete the college’s Automotive Technology Associate of Applied Sciences degree according to the schedule provided upon initial acceptance for the HRADA Scholarship. |

Horticulture Scholarship |
Description:
Established in 2004 by the various garden clubs. This scholarship is to support the education of students in the Horticulture Program at TCC. |
Criteria:
• Recipient must have horticulture career goals.
• Must be officially enrolled in the horticulture curriculum at TCC.
• Each applicant must complete an application for the scholarship provided by Professor Ken Spencer of the Horticulture program. The application will include the student's goals in the field of horticulture as well as their need for the scholarship.
• The applicant must also complete a scholarship application through the Financial Aid Office.
• The scholarship is for tuition, fees, and books and other expenses associated with the pursuit of training in horticulture.

Charlie Maxwell Memorial Horticulture Scholarship |
Description:
In March, 2006 Bill Maxwell established the Charlie Maxwell Memorial Horticulture Scholarship in memory of Charlie Maxwell. The scholarship is for tuition, fees and book and other expenses associated with the pursuit of training in horticulture. |

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship |

Criteria:
• Completed a minimum of twelve credit hours towards a recognized degree
• Enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours per semester at Tidewater Community College, three credit hours of which must be at the Chesapeake Campus
• GPA of 3.5 or higher overall
• Minimum of two letters of recommendation (One must be instructor from the Chesapeake Campus. Other letters will be accepted from previous teachers, clergy, community leaders, etc.)
• Community involvement and extracurricular activities preferred |

Stockbridge Foundation Theatre Scholarship |
Description:
Established in September 2004 by the Trustees of the Stockbridge Foundation. This scholarship is to support the education of students in the Theatre Program at TCC. |
Criteria:
Priority for Chesapeake Campus students.
Student must be active in the Theatre Program.
Full time or part time student.
New or continuing student.
Scholarship is for tuition, fees, and/or books. |

John Winkles Memorial Scholarship |
Description:
The John Winkles Memorial Scholarship and Fund has been established by the Central Atlantic Toyota Dealers to assist first- and second-year students in the Toyota T-Ten Automotive Program. Funds can be used to cover tuition, fees and books. Candidates will be selected by the Toyota T-Ten Scholarship Committee. |
Criteria:
• Accepted or enrolled in the Toyota T-Ten Program at Tidewater Community College
• GPA of 2.5 or higher
• First year student – provide a letter of intent describing your interest in the Toyota Program; or, display satisfactory performance upon dealer and classroom review, including attendance, participation, and performance |
