CENTRAL RECORDS / Registrar's Office:

FOREIGN TRANSCRIPT EVALUATION

Transfer credit may be awarded for course work completed at international colleges and universities that are accredited or approved by the appropriate Ministry of Education or other governmental agency. Follow the four steps described below to have international course work considered for TCC credit.

Please note:
  • Do not send your foreign transcripts directly to the TCC Central Records Office!!!
  • Do not bring foreign transcripts to the Office of International Student Services. They will not be accepted.

How to have your foreign transcripts evaluated:

STEP 1:
Have your international transcript(s) evaluated by a professional organization or agency that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluators or is approved by the Virginia Department of Education.  The fee for this evaluation and the time required for completion of the evaluation varies with each agency, and is the responsibility of the student.

STEP 2:
Request a course-by-course evaluation. Document-by-document evaluations will not be accepted by TCC for transfer credit.
STEP 3:
Instruct the evaluation agency to mail an official report directly to:

TCC CENTRAL RECORDS OFFICE
TIDEWATER COMMUNITY COLLEGE

P.O. Box 9000

Norfolk, VA 23509-9000

STEP 4:

Complete and submit the on-line Evaluation of Previous Educational Experiences form.

This will alert TCC Central Records that a transcript is on the way.
