Fees for In-State
New Tuition Rates Beginning Summer 2008
The following tuition and fee rates are effective for the Summer Semester 2008. Tuition is subject to change by action of the State Board for Community Colleges. Fees are payable with tuition and are charged on a per credit hour basis.
Institutional Fee…$2.80 per credit hour (up to a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester)
The Institutional Fee is used to maintain college parking facilities, lights, sidewalks, and medians.
Student Activity Fee…$2.55 per credit hour (up to a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester)
The Student Activity Fee is used to fund various student activities and programs including honor societies, community and cultural events, clubs, athletics, and student publications.
Technology Fee…$3.50 per credit hour
Mandated by the State Board for Community Colleges, this fee is used to finance major improvements in information technology at Virginia’s community colleges. There is no maximum per credit hour charge for this fee.
Auxiliary Capital Fee…$10.00 per credit hour (up to a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester)
The Auxiliary Capital Fee is used to construct, maintain, and operate facilities for which State General Fund dollars are not permitted, such as Student Centers.
