Where can I get help writing a paper?

You can find free help for writing in the Writing Centers.  The centers are staffed by faculty members and offer resources and expert tutoring in grammar and composition for students, faculty, and staff. You can call the Grammar Hotline at 822-7170 for help or visit the Virginia Beach Writing Center website at http://www.tcc.edu/students/resources/writcent/index.htm.

What kind of library services does TCC offer?

I have a disability.  Does TCC have any services to help me?

Where can I get information or help with Women’s issues?

The Women's Center at Tidewater Community College supports women in achieving the highest educational goals for both college transfer and workforce development. I need drop-in childcare. Is it available at TCC?

TCC does not offer drop-in childcare, but each Women’s Center Office maintains a list of day care centers close to campus.

Can anyone help me find a part-time job?

The college maintains job listings to help you find work while you are in school. Check with Enrollment Services on your campus to see which office handles job listings.  Visit the website for more info http://www.tcc.edu/students/career/index.htm

Where can I get information on how to transfer to another school?

The key to successful transfer is planning. To plan for transfer, you need to determine which college or university you plan to attend and what your major will be. Once you have made these decisions, you and your counselor/advisor can select the appropriate transfer courses while you attend TCC.  To get more information on transferring, go to http://www.tcc.edu/academics/programs/transfer/planning.htm.

What can TCC do to help me decide on a career?

Each campus offers a comprehensive program to help you develop, evaluate, and implement career plans. This approach helps you become aware of your interests, skills, values, and life-style preferences. Counseling Services maintains up-to-date information about job characteristics and employment prospects so you can research careers that match your profile. How can I get a copy of my transcript?

You may request copies of your transcripts from Enrollment Services, to print out the form go to

http://www.tcc.edu/students/admissions/transcript.htm

You may also view your unofficial transcript via SIS system.  After logging into your personal record, you may print out an unofficial copy of your transcripts, or request an official copy to be sent to another academic institution. 

How can I get a CO-OP job?

CO-OP combines college study and work to help you explore and choose a career, prepare for full-time employment or advance in the career of your choice. The CO-OP Office maintains an extensive listing of jobs in the community. While we cannot guarantee placement, we’ll be happy to assist you in locating a CO-OP job. The CO-OP Office also helps students with job seeking skills such as resumé writing, posting resumés on-line, and interview techniques.
