Instructions for Importing Templates into Courses

(self-upload option)

Instructors may upload the template materials using the Import Package tool.

Instructors can import the whole template package.

laptop

Follow the steps below:

Select and save the template ZIP file to your computer. Do not unzip the file.

  1. Open the new course where the imported template materials are to appear.

  2. Go to Control Panel.

  3. Open Packages and Utilities.

  4. Click Import Package / View Logs.

  5. Course Management Control Panel

  6. On the Import Package/View Logs screen, click the Import Package button.

  7. Import Package/View Logs

  8. In the section 2 of the Import Package screen, click the Browse button to locate where you saved the ExportFile package.

  9. In section 3, enter a check mark for each course area and tool in the course that should be imported into the new course. It is often safest to enter a check mark in all of the check boxes.

  10. Click Submit. (The screen may sit there for several moments. Do NOT click the Submit button more than once).

After the information is submitted, the system imports the selected content and information.
When the process is complete, the instructor receives an email.
Depending upon the size of the course and the ISP connection speed, this might take several minutes to several hours.
For an average sized course, using a fast connection, this process usually only takes a few minutes.

After the confirmation email has been received, the course may be edited using the template information.
The instructor should review the course to make sure the course menu is set up properly.
Look for and correct any duplicate course menu items.
