Federal regulations require that repayments must be made by students in the event overpayments of grant or loan funds occur. A student may be overpaid when one of the following occurs:

1. The student drops prior to the Last Day to Drop for Tuition Refund and the recalculated award is less than what the student was paid.
2. The student withdraws from all classes before the Last Day to Withdraw Without Academic Penalty (60% of term). 
3. The student never attends a class(es).

Students may owe a repayment to the U.S. Department of Education, Tidewater Community College, or both.
