Classes
offered at Norfolk Naval Shipyard are limited to shipyard personnel.
Classes offered at St. Julien's Creek are open to all TCC students.
Students enrolling for classes at St. Julien'ts Creek can do so
through any Base Representative or Enrollment Services Office.
Norfolk Naval Shipyard military and civilian personnel, and military personnel homeported or assigned to ships under repair can receive TCC student enrollment services at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Navy College Office, through TCC's Base Representative, Ms. Cassandra Harris at (757) 953-6007 or e-mail CHarris@tcc.edu.
NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD/TCC COOPERATIVE EDUCATION APPRENTICESHIP
PROGRAM
The NNSY/TCC Cooperative Education Apprentice Program provides selected students the opportunity to begin earning full-time, competitive wages while learning a skilled trade and earning a certificate or Associate of Applied Science degree through Tidewater Community College.
The Norfolk Naval Shipyard’s Apprentice program is a four-year Student Career Experience Program (SCEP) designed to attract students to a rewarding career in federal public service. Apprentices participate in a vigorous training program, which combines NNSY's trade theory training, on-the-job work experience and academic coursework through Tidewater Community College. Graduates complete the program as skilled journeypersons. Graduates can also earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Tidewater Community College.
